Members of the Training Band, young and old, perform a solo of their own choice before 2 seasoned musicians who, afterwards, will give them encouragement and tips on how to improve their playing technique.� Usually followed by a bite to eat and a game of rounders.

Chris said that "Robert has shown a new , mature approach to his playing that is a fine example to the band". Very well done to Robert and keep up the great work you are putting into the band.

<p>Saturday 1 October - The City of Chester Band will be performing at a ceremony to commemorate the opening in 1866 of Hadlow Road Railway Station on the branch line which ran from Hooton to West Kirby, part of the Birkenhead Railway. Event start 14:00, Band members meet on site at 13:30. </p><p>The line closed to passenger traffic in 1956 and to freight traffic in 1962. The track was lifted in 1964 and the track-bed became part of the Wirral Way in 1973. Hadlow Road Railway Station has been preserved to show what a railway station was like in the 1950s.
