Over the last decade or so the City of Chester Band has seen some players come and then leave the band. We have put together a short list of some of them. Why not check it out to see if you are there!

Browsing our stats log this month it's great to see several overseas domains visiting. But who are you?! It would be great to know....
Brazil
Switzerland
New Zealand
Canada
and others..... drop us a line and say hello, either via the contacts page to Ian Clowes or directly into our guest book :-)
Fri Night is YOUR Music Nite!
The other Friday, May 9th, the band played at Dunham Hill Village Hall. Ticket price was £3.50 including tea and cakes. The outing was a joint fundraiser for the band and St Luke's Church (£121 each raised), plus programme sales (£41) went to the band's charity for 2003, The Hospice of The Good Shepherd.
YOU could have your own joint fundraiser with the band. Normally we rehearse on Friday nights, but have decided to perform at joint fund raising concerts. You find the venue and sell tickets (we can supply posters). We'll turn-up and play and provide programmes to be sold on behalf of the charity. We'll run a joint raffle, and split the profits 50:50. Sound like a good idea?
Need a reasonable hall size, but nothing too large. For more info contact Les Platt via the contacts page.
Congrats to Kirsty Blain, our 2nd Horn player - on passing her Grade 3 Sax exam! :-)
Further congrats to Helen Clowes - our 2nd Bari. She's just completed a concert band CD recording that included her playing a flute solo!
A multi-talented crowd this Chester lot...
Let us know what else is happening and we'll feature it here!
Thanks to Friday night the roof fund progresses:
Target £3,500
Westminster Foundation £ 1,000
Jon Vail and family £ 1,000
Dunham Music Night £ 121
Total £ 2,121
To find £ 1,379
The site upgrade is complete... so there are some changes throughout the site which should make it even better than before. There are still some areas that need looking at and I'll sort these out once I've done my exams in two/three weeks time.
Meanwhile, have a look and continue to send your comments/suggestions through as normal!
Alot of the suggestions posted have been implemented in the current version!
Philip :-)
I know alot of people involved with the band (especially training band) live around Mickle Trafford... so...
Have you registered your interest in broadband yet?
Mickle Trafford isn't far away from BT's trigger level now (58%). UPDATE: now upto 60% (29/04) UPDATE: now upto 61% (05/05)
And if we can get broadband it'll make it alot easier to keep the band site up to date and running nicely (because thats where it's mainly maintained from!)
So pop along to http://www.broadband4mickletrafford.co.uk and click on Register (your not commiting your self to anything)
While the name suggests only Mickle Trafford - it applys to most people with a 01244 30xxxx phone number including Guilden Sutton.

Fantastic news.
In addition to the funds from Jon Vail, the Training Band have received an award from the Newstead Charity of £500 as a donation to the TB's general funds.
It is planned to put this together with Jon's donation to enable us to equip the TB (for the first time), with badged polo shirts and fleeces ready for the forthcoming season - both summer and winter!!
Many thanks to George Tasker, Charity Trustee, and of course to Jon.
Another tremendous gesture of support comes from David Else, a long time band supporter, who has just retired from his TB trombone seat. David has donated a super trophy, as The Vice Presidents Award, for the player that has made the most contribution to the TB in their first year in the band. This trophy will be awarded first in January 2004 at our first concert in the new Year.
