TB news and trophy

Fantastic news. In addition to the funds from Jon Vail, the Training Band have received an award from the Newstead Charity of £500 as a donation to the TB's general funds. It is planned to put this together with Jon's donation to enable us to equip the TB (for the first time), with badged polo shirts and fleeces ready for the forthcoming season - both summer and winter!! Many thanks to George Tasker, Charity Trustee, and of course to Jon. Another tremendous gesture of support comes from David Else, a long time band supporter, who has just retired from his TB trombone seat. David has donated a super trophy, as The Vice Presidents Award, for the player that has made the most contribution to the TB in their first year in the band. This trophy will be awarded first in January 2004 at our first concert in the new Year.
